28 analogue photos in vintage frames

All flowers in time bend towards the sun

"Det flyvende tæppe, det går kl. otte" (The Flying Carpet Departs at Eight O’Clock) is an artwork consisting of 28 photographs in found Danish, second hand frames, exhibited at Dublin Castle in the Spring of 2025 as part of the group exhibition All Flowers in Time Bend Towards the Sun.

The work is inspired by the song Itsi-Bitsi by the Danish band Steppeulvene, a love song with lyrics composed of absurd sentences and metaphors. Though seemingly incoherent, the lyric forms a poetic love letter to the singer’s girlfriend. The secondhand frames carry echoes of an unknown past, most having once held family photos. My use of these frames is twofold: to harness that sense of history and to present new ideas within their embrace.
